CALLIGRAPHIC STYLE
Calligraphic style was introduced in the seventeenth century, inspired, according to some scholars, by Chinese porcelain of the Ming dynasty during the reign of Wan-li (1571-1619). Others believe it followed the decorative ceramics style of Iznik in Turkey. Eastern subjects such as hares, fawns and lanceolate leaves overlapped with western bells and human figures. Initially it was produced in white and turquoise, later in polychrome. Orders can be taken for vases and customized panels, minimum one item.
